Auctioneer Notes:

Welcome to another edition of Sunflower Seeds.  I'm happy to report that we're starting to deliver on some of the changes I have been telling you about over the past several months.  Our first real estate auction takes place this Saturday in Gladstone, MO.  We are selling a beautiful 1.5 story maintenance-free home, with stone and wood front and 4 bedrooms, 2 full baths, and 2 half baths in Northaven East.  A wonderful selection of personal property including a show-quality 1936 Ford Truck will be sold immediately following the real estate.  I hope you can attend this auction.  It's going to be hot!

I'm also pleased to announce that we have a rare opportunity to offer an outstanding 2005 Honda Odyssey Touring van for sale by private treaty this week.  For more information about this award-winning, top-rated minivan, please contact me directly.  I speak from experience when I tell you this van is worth every penny of the price we are asking.  Let me know if you have any questions about it.

Guns, guns and more guns.  Sometimes you get what you ask for.  We are currently working through a large, single-owner firearms collection (over 1,000 guns, plus accessories) and hope to have the catalog published next week.  The auction will take place on Friday and Saturday of Labor Day weekend.  We expect that hunters, collectors and firearms enthusiasts from across the Midwest will descend on our auction gallery for a two-day auction event unlike anything they have ever seen before.  Watch our website for further details next week.

I've been dropping hints about some of the mind-blowing items we have coming to auction this fall, and I will be providing some sneak peaks in the next newsletter.  In the mean time, we are looking for a large coin collection to round out a two-day auction event in September.  If you have a large collection of mostly graded coins, please contact me immediately.  We will also accept ungraded coins, currency and bullion as part of the same event.  Our commission rate on coins is very low, and I urge you take advantage of the good market that exists right now.

Thank you for your continued patronage, and if you haven't worked with us before on the selling side, I'd like to make you a part of the exciting things happening at Sunflower Auction.

Consignment Corner:

1. New Lower Commission Rates.  Commission rates on large collections and estates are negotiable based on the quantity and quality of the items being offered and the amount of work involved in preparing the items for auction.  For a limited time, we are offering 0% sellers commission on amounts over $100,000.  Please contact us for an initial consultation.  We generally charge a flat or tiered commission on each item, and the seller generally pays the advertising and moving costs.  All commissions and fees are deducted at the end of the process, so you pay nothing upfront and we provide insurance coverage on your items while they are in our possession.

Of course, fees are really only half the story.  We strongly believe that the most important factors that determine the selling price of an item are the knowledge and reputation of the seller.  We earn our commission by achieving the highest selling price possible for you!  Our research indicates that we earn most, if not all, of our commission solely from achieving higher than average selling prices
